Vela au Raa
Vela au Raa is Romulus’s sister and a military officer of the Moon Lords. She receives Darrow’s party on Io before its meeting with Romulus.
She directs Darrow and Virginia toward Romulus’s private home in the Wastes of Karrack and requires them to accept his terms of hospitality.
She opposes Dido’s coup, escapes detention and rallies legions at Karath. Gaia’s plan to free Romulus depends on her support.
Captured during the invasion of Io, she is held by her brother Atlas with a broken back. He intends to use her to open the hidden Raa vault on Orpheus containing Eidmi; her ultimate fate is not shown.
