Lambda Clan

One of the clans of Lykos, whose members work one of the deep mines. They have never won the Laurel, and Darrow doesn't intend to go on losing it.

Gamma, the rival clan, seems to win the Laurel every time, and with it the extra food and privileges. Lambda takes the losses in the only currency it has. The clan's elders know perfectly well that the game is rigged. Its younger drillers think they can win it anyway.
