Those who keep the machines running, from starship drives down to the drills. They're indispensable, and well aware of it. Glirastes, the Master Builder, is an extreme example.
Oranges are engineers and mechanics, the people who make sure the machines turn and the reactors don't fail. They have just enough status to fear losing it.
